I’m having so much trouble convincing myself to run outside in the heat. It’s disgusting outside and the temperature has me slowing down significantly.
But there is something awesome about the feeling after a hot run. Coming home dripping with sweat has me really feeling like I did something good for my body. Of course, sweat doesn’t necessarily measure a good workout, or I could go outside and stand under a tree and come inside sweaty.
There’s just something mental about it. I can’t say being disgusting while running is enjoyable, but afterwards, it’s awesome. I’ve seen a bunch of people posting sweaty post-run pictures on Twitter and Instagram, and it seems like I’m not the only one who “enjoys” this feeling of accomplishment.
I still don’t know how you warm climate runners do it, but for now, I’m going to focus on that awesomely sweaty feeling when I drag myself out for a run outside.
I totally agree!!! Contrary to you though I have been staying indoors and its KILLING me. So i’ve made a promise to myself that I will get out this weekend and start back up somehow, even if its 30 mins. Happy Friday!
The best part about summer runs: SHOWERBEERS.
I have not had a showerbeer in YEARS. Must rectify this immediately.
I agree with you, there’s just something about a nasty sweaty run to help give you that sense of accomplishment! Hah!

What is a showerbeer?! I need to know.

Well, Abby, I would define showerbeer as a delicious beer consumed while in the shower. Sounds weird, but it’s surprisingly awesome.
also: cold showers. like, ICE cold. heaven.
