Sunday is my first triathlon of the season. It’s a super sprint, so I’m not terribly worried about any of the distances, but it’s been a long time since I’ve done all three sports together.
I’m already stressing over what to pack in my transition bag. I have a list though. That helps.
I’m also wondering if I remember how to do transitions. It’s been a while. I think the odds of me falling over while trying to put my shoes on are high. I do a lot of falling when it comes to triathlon, and never in the obvious places. Mostly just tipping over at random. Let’s just hope it’s not muddy.
Honestly though, I’m pretty excited to be starting the season. I’m not particularly good at triathlon, but as I always say, it’s the only event where you can be mediocre at three sports and still be decent. Plus, as of late, my running has really stagnated, and triathlon is a place where I can find improvement. And if nothing else, the insanity of it all keeps me out of trouble.
Good luck to all my friends racing this weekend! And send a bit of luck my way on Sunday morning too!
