It’s race time!
Again.
I feel like I just flew to Florida to race. And yet, here I go again. (And once again, it will be cold.)
This weekend, I’m running the Donna 5K and Half in Jacksonville. I’m looking forward to it. There are so many awesome people running, and I’ve heard it’s an excellent race. Plus, I have to admit, I’m pretty pumped about the temperature. I’m a much better cold weather runner, so this is my kind of race. I’m excited to see how well I can do, since I feel like I’ve been training my bum off lately.
(Which isn’t a bad thing, though I’d rather be training my belly off, to be honest.)
What amazes me is that five years ago, I didn’t know any of the people that I’m going to meet at this race. Thanks to running and racing, I have made some incredible new friends, first through the interwebs, then in person. It’s not just team sports that are social!
After that, it’s vacation time, but burglars beware. My house sitter probably knows kung-fu. So you won’t see any posts from me while I’m gone, but then you will get a myriad of race and vacation posts, I’m sure.
And yes, I will be working out while on vacation. I have Cherry Blossom to get ready for, after all! You runners better keep training while I’m gone.
