{"id":1408,"date":"2013-02-27T08:00:42","date_gmt":"2013-02-27T13:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=1408"},"modified":"2013-02-17T10:48:05","modified_gmt":"2013-02-17T15:48:05","slug":"workout-log","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2013\/02\/27\/workout-log\/","title":{"rendered":"Workout Log"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">One tip that I always read is that you should keep a running log. \u00a0Now, I&#8217;ve been keeping a log of distances and times (and shoes) on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.runningahead.com\">RunningAHEAD.com<\/a> since I started running. \u00a0The site is amazing, and the workout logs have plenty of room for me to track things like weather, how I felt, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But I don&#8217;t do it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I also use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymile.com\">DailyMile<\/a> for tracking workouts, but it&#8217;s definitely a more social thing. \u00a0I do track how I feel, but not necessarily the weather (unless it is amazingly good or bad), and I try to stay positive because it is a social site.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I tried the free log from Runners World that came with my subscription to the magazine. \u00a0Used that for about two weeks, then forgot about it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">While cleaning this weekend, I came across a health and fitness log I started in a blank notebook in January of 2012. \u00a0I made it through about three weeks. \u00a0I think it may have been sitting on my kitchen table since then (but not anymore).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So for 2013, I bought myself something new &#8211; the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.believeiam.com\/products\/the-believe-i-am-training-journal\">B.I.A. Training Journal<\/a>. \u00a0So far, so good (yes, the photo is kind of old, I meant to write this post earlier).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/wpid-IMG_20130215_132229.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/wpid-IMG_20130215_132229.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"468\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">What has worked for me is that it&#8217;s just a simple one-liner of what I did every day. \u00a0If I want to write more, there is space for that starting at around the middle of the journal. \u00a0So far, I&#8217;ve only written there twice, once after the marathon and once after a very sluggish day where I just needed to vent to myself. \u00a0One thing I&#8217;ve noticed is that this forces me to take note of the days where I don&#8217;t workout. \u00a0Since the marathon, I&#8217;ve been terrible about skipping workouts. \u00a0I&#8217;m hoping my new triathlon training schedule prevents that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">While I love the B.I.A. journal, I&#8217;m not writing this post encouraging you to buy it (unless you want to). \u00a0I bought it myself and am getting nothing for putting this in a post. \u00a0But what I like is the simplicity. \u00a0You could do that on your own, if you want. \u00a0A blank notebook is really all you need. \u00a0Or even just a blank text file on your computer, if you want to go the techie route.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Do you log your workouts anywhere? \u00a0What&#8217;s your method?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One tip that I always read is that you should keep a running log. \u00a0Now, I&#8217;ve been keeping a log of distances and times (and shoes) on RunningAHEAD.com since I started running. \u00a0The site is amazing, and the workout logs have plenty of room for me to track things like weather, how I felt, etc. [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[41],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.7 -
