{"id":2318,"date":"2013-10-16T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-10-16T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=2318"},"modified":"2013-10-15T13:57:53","modified_gmt":"2013-10-15T17:57:53","slug":"tense-shoulders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/16\/tense-shoulders\/","title":{"rendered":"Tense Shoulders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I noticed yesterday that my upper body is very tense.\u00a0 I wondered if my asthma was acting up because my chest felt tight, but a bit of stretching revealed that it was actually my muscles and I had some soreness in my shoulders.<\/p>\n<p>This happens to me every so often, usually when I&#8217;m under a lot of stress, and the current status of the government can&#8217;t be helping things since a good chunk of my work is getting delayed.\u00a0 But I&#8217;m wondering if my body positioning during Saturday&#8217;s half also has something to do with it.<\/p>\n<p>I admit that my training wasn&#8217;t what it should have been, with a maximum long run of 9 miles, but that&#8217;s only a bit under what I often do for training.\u00a0 But I wasn&#8217;t properly hill trained, so I might have been hunching my shoulders a bit by the end.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m still working on getting strength training incorporated as a regular part of my workout, and it&#8217;s going&#8230; okay.\u00a0 I&#8217;m thinking getting back to regular swimming will likely help as well.\u00a0 Fatiguing those muscles will make them unclench, right?<\/p>\n<p>Or maybe it&#8217;s just because I&#8217;m past due for a massage.\u00a0 Counting the days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I noticed yesterday that my upper body is very tense.\u00a0 I wondered if my asthma was acting up because my chest felt tight, but a bit of stretching revealed that it was actually my muscles and I had some soreness in my shoulders.
