Packing is done, save for the few things that I have to use before then (glasses, etc). Whenever I have the ability to take a suitcase when I travel, I end up packing way too much stuff. Of course, I am carrying on one set of running gear, just in case, but the suitcase&#8230; So much stuff!<\/p>\n<p>Part of it is the weather. I am taking more warm gear than normal. I also have throwaway clothes for before both races. Just in case. Also some disposable ponchos.<\/p>\n<p>Like I said, a slight tendency to overpack. But if I have to check a bag, why not check a big bag and then bring what I might need?<\/p>\n<p>I ran 5 very easy miles yesterday and had no Achilles pain. I considered doing the full 8 called for on my schedule, but I figured those three miles weren&#8217;t going to change anything at this point. Best to be rested and out of pain.<\/p>\n<p>I also seem to have found a group of awesome friends to run the marathon with! People just out to finish in the time limit and have a good time. So I think I will drop back a corral and run with them. 26 miles will feel much better with friends.<\/p>\n<p>I am way more nervous this year than last. But I am also looking forward to it.
