{"id":2813,"date":"2014-06-03T09:00:58","date_gmt":"2014-06-03T13:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=2813"},"modified":"2014-06-03T08:22:09","modified_gmt":"2014-06-03T12:22:09","slug":"loving-the-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2014\/06\/03\/loving-the-run\/","title":{"rendered":"Loving the Run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I have discussed, I&#8217;ve been in a bit of a slump lately.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t explain it, but I just haven&#8217;t been loving the run as much.\u00a0 I think maybe my marathon burnt me out and I haven&#8217;t found my way back.<\/p>\n<p>But I&#8217;m getting there.<\/p>\n<p>This weekend, rather than bike on Sunday, I opted to run.\u00a0 Swimfest threw off my schedule a bit this weekend, and I decided that I needed a good long run more than I needed a bike ride.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been really good about getting on my bike and riding, but my running still hasn&#8217;t been there.<\/p>\n<p>So I set out for a run on Sunday morning.\u00a0 The weather was gorgeous.\u00a0 I planned to go for somewhere between 6 and 7 miles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/20140603-081757-29877376.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2814\" src=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/20140603-081757-29877376.jpg\" alt=\"20140603-081757-29877376.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/20140603-081757-29877376.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/20140603-081757-29877376-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/20140603-081757-29877376-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My back has still been bothering me, so I stopped to stretch a few times, including at this awesome bench.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m really lucky to live by an amazing trail that I can run on the weekends.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t feel safe enough to run there during the week, as there have been a number of issues on the trail (mostly run-by gropings), but on the weekends, there are so many people out that it&#8217;s an awesome place to run.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/20140603-081759-29879374.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2815\" src=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/20140603-081759-29879374.jpg\" alt=\"20140603-081759-29879374.jpg\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/20140603-081759-29879374.jpg 768w, http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/20140603-081759-29879374-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And while it certainly wasn&#8217;t a fast run, it felt good.\u00a0 It was awesome to be back out enjoying the run.\u00a0 And I have to try to keep that distance up.\u00a0 Even though I&#8217;m doing a lot of shorter triathlons this summer, I do still have a few half marathons on the horizon and I need to be ready!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I have discussed, I&#8217;ve been in a bit of a slump lately.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t explain it, but I just haven&#8217;t been loving the run as much.\u00a0 I think maybe my marathon burnt me out and I haven&#8217;t found my way back.
