I just sewed up a hole in the shirt I’m currently wearing.\u00a0 While sitting at my desk.\u00a0 I’m classy like that.\u00a0 And I plan to continue to wear this shirt, hole be damned.<\/p>\n
On that note though, I’m really trying to step up my work wardrobe.\u00a0 I used to be so much better about it.\u00a0 I would wear cute suits and awesome heels and I would look fabulous.\u00a0 Lately, my uniform has become black pants, knit top, cardigan, black flats, same jewelry every day.<\/p>\n
Now, there’s nothing wrong with this particular uniform. But I feel like it’s time to step up my game.\u00a0 After all, don’t they always say “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have?”\u00a0 Not that I’m looking for another job, but when I look around at the higher ups at my agency, they are often dressed better than I am.\u00a0 Of course, they also make more money than I do.\u00a0 But that doesn’t mean I can’t step up my game.<\/p>\n
Part of the problem is that on the weekend, I just want to wear track pants and running gear.\u00a0 Which I do.\u00a0 So then I feel like putting on non-athletic gear qualifies as dressing up.\u00a0 It does and it doesn’t.<\/p>\n
So I’m trying to step up my look.\u00a0 Mainly by shopping my own closet.\u00a0 I’m trying to not wear the same boring flats every day.\u00a0 I have cute heels.\u00a0 Sure, maybe they’re not the best for you, but I spend so much of my day at my desk that it’s not an issue.\u00a0 If I leave the office or plan to be walking, I switch out my shoes. Saves my feet and saves on wear and tear on the shoes.\u00a0 I’ve also got a lot of great jewelry that I’m trying to wear more often.\u00a0 And scarves.\u00a0 I have a number of scarves and no idea how to wear them.\u00a0 Or match them to things.\u00a0 I am terrible.<\/p>\n
