{"id":3150,"date":"2014-12-05T09:26:37","date_gmt":"2014-12-05T14:26:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=3150"},"modified":"2014-12-05T09:26:37","modified_gmt":"2014-12-05T14:26:37","slug":"whats-next","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2014\/12\/05\/whats-next\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s Next?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since my olympic distance triathlon in September, my training focus has been on the Space Coast Half.\u00a0 Now that the race has been conquered and I&#8217;m delighted with my time, I have to figure out what&#8217;s coming up next and where I need to focus my efforts.<\/p>\n<p>One of my goals for the winter is to really improve my biking, which can be done with some quality trainer rides.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve got a couple of triathlons on the schedule already for next year and I&#8217;m looking forward to working on the olympic distance.\u00a0 I&#8217;m also returning to Iron Girl Columbia for the third year and would very much like to improve my time again in 2015.\u00a0 For me, it&#8217;s the easiest way to see that all my training is paying off.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, this doesn&#8217;t mean that I can give up on running.\u00a0 Not only is running the third leg of triathlon, obviously, but I actually have four running races before my first triathlon of the season:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Disney 10k<\/li>\n<li>Disney Half (on my birthday!)<\/li>\n<li>Donna Half<\/li>\n<li>Cherry Blossom Ten Miler<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of those, I&#8217;m mentally most focused on Cherry Blossom.\u00a0 The Disney races are often a wash because I&#8217;ve spent so much time on my feet before the races and I end up stuck in crowds and unable to run a good pace. That&#8217;s okay &#8211; I run Disney for the experience, not because I want to be fast.\u00a0 Donna could go either way &#8211; it depends on the weather, to be honest.<\/p>\n<p>And soon enough after, I start back up with triathlons!\u00a0 Hooray!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since my olympic distance triathlon in September, my training focus has been on the Space Coast Half.\u00a0 Now that the race has been conquered and I&#8217;m delighted with my time, I have to figure out what&#8217;s coming up next and where I need to focus my efforts.
