\"Image<\/a><\/p>\n

I don’t know about anyone else, but the year flew by for me, and it’s hard for me to pick out my person 2014 highlights.\u00a0 I still struggle with not writing 2013 on paperwork and suddenly I’m going to have to write 2015?\u00a0 Life so hard.<\/p>\n

In January, I ran another marathon<\/a>.\u00a0 It was a good accomplishment, but not something I particularly enjoyed.\u00a0 Then I got a mole removed<\/a> and reminded everyone to wear sunscreen.<\/p>\n

In February, we caught a mouse in the office<\/a>.\u00a0 It’s a story we still tell.\u00a0 I ran another half marathon and my parents ran a 10k in costume<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In March, TriColumbia disbanded<\/a> and it sent us all into a panic about our upcoming races.\u00a0 And I worked on my swimming<\/a>.<\/p>\n

April meant that everyone in the running community was paying attention to what was going on in Boston<\/a>.\u00a0 Also, I ran back<\/a> to back<\/a> half marathons.\u00a0 Yikes. \u00a0 I volunteered at a race<\/a>.<\/p>\n

May started with another half marathon<\/a>.\u00a0 I struggled through an open water swim<\/a> and it freaked me out a bit.\u00a0 But the month ended with some quality open water swimming<\/a>.\u00a0 SwimFest<\/a> was exactly what I needed. \u00a0 Also May was insane work-wise, so I didn’t blog a lot.<\/p>\n

In June, I started working with a coach and it was the best decision I made all year.\u00a0 I did my first tri of the season<\/a> and ended up on the podium!\u00a0 I got a professional bike fit<\/a> and Ethel and I are so much happier now.<\/p>\n

In July ,I paid a stupid amount of money to have my closet professionally designed<\/a> and it was the second best decision I made all year.\u00a0 Columbia Pedal and Paddle was one of the hardest things<\/a> I’ve done in a long time, but I’ll do it again.\u00a0 One of my fall races got cancelled<\/a>, which meant I was probably going to register for something else.<\/p>\n

August was insane.\u00a0 I raced a hilly triathlon at Fort Ritchie<\/a>.\u00a0 I went to Vegas, kayaked near the Hoover Dam (and never wrote about it, apparently), then”ran” a midnight half marathon<\/a>.\u00a0 I did the Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon<\/a> and improved greatly from last year.\u00a0 I ended the month by doing 24 Hours of Booty<\/a>, and I will be back again in 2015.<\/p>\n

September was less busy.\u00a0 Though I didn’t write about it eloquently<\/a>, I was honored to attend the Flight 93 Memorial events on September 11.\u00a0 I ran a local ten mile<\/a>r as a training run.\u00a0 I finished the month with my first olympic distance triathlon<\/a>.\u00a0 And I’m ashamed to admit I haven’t been on my bike since.<\/p>\n

I started October at a Notre Dame football game<\/a>.\u00a0 AWESOME.\u00a0 I ran the Army Ten Miler<\/a>.\u00a0 And, of course, everyone freaked out about Ebola<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In November, I was glad to not be marathon training<\/a>.\u00a0 I announced<\/a> that I’m one of the 2015 Cherry Blossom social runners.\u00a0 I sang with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra<\/a> (well, my choir did).\u00a0 And the month ended with the best half maratho<\/a>n I’ve run in a long time.<\/p>\n

And so we reach December.\u00a0 With no races, I slogged through my training plan<\/a>.\u00a0 I got jock itch and blogged about it<\/a>, but not in great detail because ew.\u00a0 I petted many doggies on holiday break<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 And I wrote this post for you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
