With Halloween come and gone, we have moved into November.\u00a0 In many places, it seems like people have already moved on to December and are preparing for Christmas.\u00a0 I suppose this is appropriate if you are Canadian, and have already celebrated Thanksgiving.\u00a0 (And I admit that I will be putting up my tree by mid-month.)\u00a0 But we can’t forget about Thanksgiving approaching and how much we have to be thankful for.<\/p>\n

There is a blog project going around for posting every day in November.\u00a0 I think it’s a take-off of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month, something I do not have time for, but would love to try).\u00a0 Clearly, I’m not attempting that, since I didn’t blog yesterday.\u00a0 Nor do I have that much to say.\u00a0 But this month, I’m going to try to intersperse regular posts with thankfulness posts and if anyone wants to join me, you absolutely should.\u00a0 Because we all have a lot to be thankful for.<\/p>\n

To start out, I am thankful for YOU.\u00a0 More specifically, I am thankful for all of the amazing friends that I have made thanks to running and triathlon, and the friends I have connected with on another level thanks to sport.\u00a0 The majority of the people I spend time with are people that I met thanks to my participation in running and triathlons, and it’s been so awesome to have my group of friends constantly growing.<\/p>\n

(Don’t worry, you non-running friends.\u00a0 You are still very important to me.)<\/p>\n

For me, the best part about running\/triathlon has been the community.\u00a0\u00a0 Even if someone I meet at a start line doesn’t become a forever friend, for those few minutes before the race starts, it’s awesome to have someone to chat and laugh with.\u00a0 And it’s been crazy how many people I have met thanks to this blog.\u00a0 It’s a little weird to meet someone who says “Hey, I read your blog!”\u00a0 Always a shocker – I sort of forget that people other than my mom read this.<\/p>\n

This month, take some time to think about what you are thankful for.\u00a0 Big or small, it all counts.\u00a0 Later this month, I may tell you how thankful I am for foam rollers, for example.<\/p>\n
