Welcome to part two of my live blog. \u00a0If you missed part one, check it out here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Saturday<\/h2>\n

7:45am<\/strong> – I wake up because a cat is pawing at my face. \u00a0I guess it’s morning. \u00a0I can hear the furnace running, so this is a good sign. \u00a0Means I still have power. \u00a0Let’s see what it looks like outside.<\/p>\n

Looking out the window, it’s hard to say what’s going on out there.<\/p>\n

I mean, the firepit is gone and the large planter is almost MIA, but maybe it’s not that bad.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

So I decided to take my trusty yardstick and go outside.<\/p>\n

\"Shouldn't<\/a>
Shouldn’t there be a step down here?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

And I know these are stairs.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"14<\/a>
14 inches. Yay?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

So we’re officially at 14 inches at my house and it’s still coming down pretty steadily. \u00a0it’s not super windy here, though there are occasional gusts. \u00a0Fingers crossed.<\/p>\n

8:15am<\/strong> – Instances of cat barf cleaned: 1.<\/p>\n

8:30am<\/strong> – I could only convince the cat to check out the front porch, where there’s about 4 inches of snow. \u00a0This furry little jerk tends to howl at the front door, demanding to go outside, so of course, I had to let him out in the snow.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_1753\"<\/a><\/p>\n

10:45am<\/strong> – Crafts completed: 2 \u00a0Tasks on to-do list completed: Less than 2.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_1754\"<\/a><\/p>\n

11:15am<\/strong> – Having wasted away much of the morning, it’s time to hit the bike trainer and get in a workout. \u00a0Then lunch, then tackling the snow.<\/p>\n

12:28pm<\/b> – Power went out for about 30 seconds. Ominous.<\/p>\n

1:30pm<\/strong> – Still have power. \u00a0Finished 90 minutes on the bike trainer and scarfed down some lunch. \u00a0Headed out to shovel.<\/p>\n

2:30pm<\/strong> – Done with shoveling. \u00a0My whole body is exhausted. \u00a0And while I was out there, the snow picked up even more. \u00a0It is now super heavy conditions. \u00a0My shoveling may have been for naught.
\n\"IMG_1759\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Total inches so far – about 14.5. \u00a0Not much since this morning, but as I type, it’s certainly coming down.<\/p>\n

3:15pm<\/strong> – Poor cold birdie.<\/p>\n

4:35pm<\/strong> – Dammit.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_1765\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And for comparison, one last photo of my backyard for the day.<\/p>\n

5:15pm<\/strong> – Hot chocolate and vanilla vodka. \u00a0All my weight loss plans are going to hell this weekend. \u00a0Mmm…<\/p>\n

6:30pm<\/strong> – I am exhausted. \u00a0And haven’t been up for 12 hours. \u00a0Blizzard life is hard.<\/p>\n

7:30pm<\/strong> – Well, might as well continue the repair work on the damaged ceiling from 2+ years ago. \u00a0Time to spackle!<\/p>\n

Sunday<\/h2>\n

7:30am<\/strong> – I am awoken by one cat licking my hair and one cat meowing\u00a0from downstairs for breakfast. \u00a0The blizzard is officially over, and I managed to get through it with power and internet. \u00a0Hooray! \u00a0Of course, today, I must attempt to dig out.<\/p>\n

8:40am<\/strong> – The shoveling begins.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_1769\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There is a sidewalk here.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_1770\"<\/a><\/p>\n

9:40am<\/strong> – Look! \u00a0I found my car!<\/p>\n

\"IMG_1771\"<\/a> \"IMG_1773\"<\/a><\/p>\n

10:20am<\/strong> – DONE. \u00a0I’m not sure what the official snow total is. \u00a0My yardstick hits at 18 inches, but I have since learned that this is an improper way to measure snow, since it settles under the weight. \u00a0So… more than 18 inches, I guess.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_1774\"<\/a><\/p>\n

10:40am<\/strong> – The internet tells me my area’s official total is 25 inches.<\/p>\n

2:40pm<\/strong> – Got all the snow equipment cleaned up, had some lunch, considered starting my ten mile run. \u00a0Got .25 miles in and stopped. \u00a0Nap first. Then running.<\/p>\n

5:00pm<\/strong> – Who am I kidding. \u00a0Today’s run isn’t happening. \u00a0Spent the afternoon on the couch being lazy, then went out to do another hour of shoveling and clear off a path to the trash can. \u00a0I won’t be going anywhere tomorrow. \u00a0I’ll be able to get it in then.<\/p>\n

5:50pm<\/strong> – Office is officially closed tomorrow, so that means a day of telework for me. \u00a0As if this is any surprise. \u00a0Choir is also cancelled, so I have no need to leave my house. \u00a0I’m really going to struggle when I have to put on real pants again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
