{"id":4290,"date":"2016-03-02T09:00:32","date_gmt":"2016-03-02T14:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=4290"},"modified":"2016-03-02T08:31:43","modified_gmt":"2016-03-02T13:31:43","slug":"wednesday-workout-recap-49","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2016\/03\/02\/wednesday-workout-recap-49\/","title":{"rendered":"Wednesday Workout Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hump day!\u00a0 We&#8217;ve made it to the midpoint of the week!<\/p>\n<p>Last week was busy.\u00a0 Aren&#8217;t they all though?<\/p>\n<p>Monday &#8211; Rest day.\u00a0 Choir rehearsals.\u00a0 Not restful.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday &#8211; FTP test.\u00a0 I came out of this pretty bummed that my watts were so low, but whatever, I have plenty of room for improvement then.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday &#8211; Long day at work, big storms, so by the time the day was done, I was also done, so I grabbed pizza and drinks with a friend.\u00a0 I needed the mental break.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday &#8211; Swim practice.\u00a0 This one was frustrating because I kept getting clobbered in the lane.\u00a0 We were also down a coach, so the solo coach was working with the new swimmers and the rest of us were left with sprints.\u00a0 So many sprints.\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t a fun workout.<\/p>\n<p>Friday\u00a0 &#8211; Trainer Ride<\/p>\n<p>Saturday &#8211; Got on the bike to do my first workout with my new FTP scores&#8230; and something was really wrong.\u00a0 My numbers were way higher than they should be&#8230; but much more in line with where I though they should be.\u00a0 Using the formula for estimating FTP, I should be aiming for at least 300 watts as a goal.\u00a0 Now, I know I&#8217;m not the best cyclist, plus I have heart rate limitations, so I expect to be well below that, but not as low as I was seeing on Monday.\u00a0 So instead of doing the workout, I redid the FTP test, and tacked on some riding to get me to 90 minutes on the trainer.\u00a0 These numbers are much more reasonable.\u00a0 My power meter got an update over the week, so I&#8217;m thinking that&#8217;s what fixed the issue.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday &#8211; 10 mile run.\u00a0 Yay.\u00a0 At least Cherry Blossom won&#8217;t be too much of a surprise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hump day!\u00a0 We&#8217;ve made it to the midpoint of the week!
