{"id":477,"date":"2012-07-30T16:53:23","date_gmt":"2012-07-30T20:53:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=477"},"modified":"2012-07-30T16:53:23","modified_gmt":"2012-07-30T20:53:23","slug":"back-in-the-saddle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2012\/07\/30\/back-in-the-saddle\/","title":{"rendered":"Back in the saddle?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Somehow, I ran nearly 18 miles last week.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure how that happened.<\/p>\n<p>Oh wait, I know how it happened.\u00a0 I actually followed my training plan!\u00a0 I lifted weights twice too.\u00a0 Amazing!<\/p>\n<p>I really need to get myself in gear and stick to my training plan.\u00a0 I&#8217;m trying to get up half an hour earlier to either lift, run 3 miles, or&#8230; do something else.\u00a0 Let me explain.<\/p>\n<p>Monday &#8211; Weights<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday &#8211; Run (short)<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday &#8211; Weights<\/p>\n<p>Thursday &#8211; Run (mid-length, speedwork)<\/p>\n<p>Friday &#8211; Run (short)<\/p>\n<p>Saturday &#8211; Bike (or maybe rest, since I&#8217;m not training for any bike races right now)<\/p>\n<p>Sunday &#8211; Run (long)<\/p>\n<p>So I have to figure out how to allocate these workouts.\u00a0 The short runs and the weights can be done in the morning before work.\u00a0 The speedwork cannot.\u00a0 So on Thursday, I can either sleep in or I can do something else in the morning.\u00a0 I&#8217;m thinking maybe ab work.\u00a0 And the best thing is that it leaves most of my evenings free so I can take the bike out if I want.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve managed to put on about 25 lbs in the past 5 years, which is frustrating.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been trying to lose for about a year, with zero results.\u00a0 So I&#8217;m just trying to change it up, make slight changes to my fitness plan and slight changes to my eating plan and see where that gets me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Somehow, I ran nearly 18 miles last week.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure how that happened.
