\"\"<\/a>This year, I’m trying out the 40 Bags in 40 Days Decluttering Challenge.<\/a><\/p>\n

No, it’s not actually getting rid of 40 bags of stuff, though that would be nice. \u00a0Rather, it’s about decluttering one area a day for 40 days. \u00a0I’ll be honest, there will be days that get skipped, so my goal is to declutter 40 areas.<\/p>\n

What I like about this challenge is that it’s not just physical areas. \u00a0What I really like about this challenge is that it also focuses on digital decluttering. \u00a0Let’s be honest, we all have way too much email piled up. \u00a0As of right now, I have over 1400 emails in my personal inbox and something like 29,000 in my work inbox. \u00a0These are both problematic. \u00a0For work, I can’t actually delete very much, but I can certainly sort it into files. \u00a0 For my personal email, I KNOW I can delete a ton of it, and much of it can be archived out of the inbox.<\/p>\n

Another digital area I want to tackle is my photo storage. \u00a0Because I don’t need 40 blurry pictures of my cats.<\/p>\n

Of course, there are plenty of other areas to go through as well. \u00a0I like the idea of breaking it down into very achievable goals. \u00a0On the list of areas to declutter, some examples are “junk drawer,” “food storage containers,” and “mail.” \u00a0Nothing too big, but when you take 40 little things, the end result certainly adds up.<\/p>\n

It’s been an entire race season since I’ve gone through all my gear and race shirts and I’m sure it’s past time to get rid of more than a few items. \u00a0Just because it’s all neatly stored away doesn’t mean that I need to be keeping it.<\/p>\n

I also need to go through my makeup. \u00a0It’s embarrassing how very expired some of it has to be. \u00a0Do I really need 30 lip products? \u00a0Nope. \u00a0Time to declutter. \u00a0My skincare arsenal is a little cluttered (I’m partial to my Meaningful Beauty<\/a> products) but it isn’t anywhere near as bad as my makeup situation. \u00a0I’m so close to labeling myself a hoarder!<\/p>\n
