(And yes, that race start time is the default and likely is not correct.)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I joke that I hate running.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t actually hate running.\u00a0 It&#8217;s just that upon taking up triathlon, I discovered that I like doing things in addition to running, and having to run four+ days a week is kind of terrible.\u00a0 I love the killer workouts that triathlon season brings.\u00a0 And yet I spent my winter season running.<\/p>\n<p>Why?\u00a0 Well, I&#8217;m one of those people where if I don&#8217;t race, I&#8217;m much more likely to skip workouts.\u00a0 If I have something I&#8217;m training for, I&#8217;ll get out there.\u00a0 (I&#8217;d like to think that with Chattanooga 70.3 on the schedule, that would be enough, but really, who knows?)\u00a0 Plus I have a lot of friends who I met through running and I want to keep racing with them.\u00a0 For me, running races are also a lot less stressful.\u00a0 I think it&#8217;s because the logistics are much simpler.\u00a0 So much less to pack.\u00a0 Weather plays much less of a role (except in what I wear).\u00a0 The races are also shorter, time-wise, so that makes things easier.<\/p>\n<p>That doesn&#8217;t mean that I&#8217;m not aiming for big things this season, but I&#8217;m taking each race as it comes.\u00a0 For example, with this weekend&#8217;s Army Ten Miler, I&#8217;d love to improve my time from the Cherry Blossom Ten Miler earlier this year, but I&#8217;ve been a bit tight for the past couple of weeks, and I&#8217;m just not sure my body&#8217;s up for it.\u00a0 But we&#8217;ll see what happens race morning.\u00a0 Goal is to finish and have fun.<\/p>\n<p>Then it&#8217;s on to half marathon season.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure what I&#8217;m most excited for.\u00a0 Space Coast has become a tradition, and I&#8217;m excited to hang out with friends and get my that 5th coveted space shuttle medal.\u00a0 Donna is also slowly becoming tradition and a trip to Florida in February is so amazing.\u00a0 BDR New Orleans is new, but I&#8217;m pumped to finally get to run with <a href=\"https:\/\/milesofsunshine.com\/\">Kim <\/a>again.\u00a0 So each race has something awesome about it in addition to the actual running part.<\/p>\n<p>Plus if nothing else, all that treadmill time helps me keep up on my tv watching.\u00a0 Thank goodness for the fall tv season!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I joke that I hate running.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t actually hate running.\u00a0 It&#8217;s just that upon taking up triathlon, I discovered that I like doing things in addition to running, and having to run four+ days a week is kind of terrible.\u00a0 I love the killer workouts that triathlon season brings.\u00a0 And yet I spent my [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[42],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.7 -
