{"id":564,"date":"2012-08-17T06:00:20","date_gmt":"2012-08-17T10:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=564"},"modified":"2012-08-15T15:17:58","modified_gmt":"2012-08-15T19:17:58","slug":"hurts-so-good","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2012\/08\/17\/hurts-so-good\/","title":{"rendered":"Hurts So Good"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past week, I&#8217;ve been dealing with some serious low back tightness.\u00a0 I&#8217;m pretty sure it was from Saturday&#8217;s ten mile bike ride (thank goodness I&#8217;m getting my bike adjusted today).\u00a0\u00a0 I could tell that it was muscular, but no matter what I did, it kept seizing back up.\u00a0 It felt good while I was active but once I stopped and sat down, it would tighten back up.<\/p>\n<p>So I asked the internet what I could do.\u00a0 And I came upon some great foam roller techniques.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UQiwoJ-IESQ\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I especially like this video.\u00a0 I have a foam roller and I love it, but I have to admit, I use it mostly on my legs.\u00a0 I never bothered to learn how to use it on my back.\u00a0 And oh man, does it feel good.\u00a0 The shoulder part is definitely a bit of an ab workout as well. It&#8217;s amazing how easy it is to find a spot I didn&#8217;t know was tender.\u00a0 And it feels so great to work out that soreness.<\/p>\n<p>Based on things my massage therapist has said and on how my body is reacting to the stretching, the back pain seems to be caused by hip and glute tightness.\u00a0 What does that mean?\u00a0 More stretching!
