{"id":5767,"date":"2017-11-05T13:14:36","date_gmt":"2017-11-05T18:14:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=5767"},"modified":"2017-11-09T13:15:39","modified_gmt":"2017-11-09T18:15:39","slug":"oh-shape-ive-gotten","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2017\/11\/05\/oh-shape-ive-gotten\/","title":{"rendered":"Oh, how out of shape I&#8217;ve gotten"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(A post from 11\/5 that got caught in my pending files.\u00a0 Whoops.\u00a0 Still counts.)<\/p>\n<p>This weekend, I had a 12 mile run on my training schedule.\u00a0 Just 12 miles.\u00a0 No big deal, right?<\/p>\n<p>Wrong.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5768\" src=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/everything-hurts-300x263.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"263\" srcset=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/everything-hurts-300x263.jpg 300w, http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/everything-hurts-768x673.jpg 768w, http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/everything-hurts-342x300.jpg 342w, http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/everything-hurts.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Seriously, I was not this sore after my last half marathon.\u00a0 Where I set a PR.<\/p>\n<p>What this tells me is that I&#8217;m terribly out of running shape.\u00a0 Okay, so I did run 12 miles, and the pace wasn&#8217;t that bad.\u00a0 Actually, if I look at the McMillan calculator, my pace was within the recommended training pace if my goal is to race near my PR again.\u00a0 So maybe it&#8217;s not that bad.<\/p>\n<p>But given how I hurt, I can tell that my form was off.\u00a0 My ribs are sore today, and I think that&#8217;s due to poor form (though I&#8217;m going to check this with my PT this week).\u00a0 My glutes are sore.\u00a0 My quads are sore.\u00a0 My hip flexors feel good, so I guess the PT is working.<\/p>\n<p>The thing is, I like being sore after a good race, but after a long training run?\u00a0 I&#8217;m out of shape.\u00a0 And guess what?\u00a0 I have another 12 mile run next weekend!\u00a0 Hooray!<\/p>\n<p>What doesn&#8217;t kill you makes you stronger, right?<\/p>\n<p>(And yes, this is a drive by post to get in my NaBloPoMo post.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(A post from 11\/5 that got caught in my pending files.\u00a0 Whoops.\u00a0 Still counts.)
