Nope. Pretty sure my arms don&#8217;t work like that. <a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/users\/StockSnap\/\">StockSnap<\/a> \/ Pixabay<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Guys.\u00a0 I have never liked yoga.\u00a0 I just can&#8217;t get into the whole &#8220;center yourself and feel the strength of the earth move through your body&#8221; thing.\u00a0 When that happens, all I can think is &#8220;Hurry up, I&#8217;ve got things to do, let&#8217;s get this show on the road!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But I may have been too quick to judge.\u00a0 Turns out there are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/0-8622\/14-styles-of-yoga-explained-simply.html\">all sorts of types of yoga<\/a>.\u00a0 Which means that there&#8217;s probably one that&#8217;s right for me.\u00a0 And one where I don&#8217;t have to envision the powers of the ancestors flowing in and out of my finger tips.\u00a0 Or whatever.\u00a0 Like I said, I stop listening when things get weird.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been dealing with some nagging issues in my hips and glutes.\u00a0 It&#8217;s probably all tied to my piriformis and general tight muscles.\u00a0 I have never been flexible.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been seeing a PT and doing a lot of strength work, and I&#8217;m definitely noticing improvement, but it&#8217;s been slow.<\/p>\n<p>Since my calf muscle is still healing after tweaking it at <a href=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2017\/11\/30\/race-report-2017-space-coast-half-marathon\/\">Space Coast<\/a>, my coach told me that I needed to be doing yoga every day to get my body stretched out and healed.\u00a0 She recommended <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/yogawithadriene\">Yoga with Adriene<\/a> as the best option, so I&#8217;ve been doing some of her videos daily, mostly the ones for runners, and I have to say, my piriformis feels almost perfect.\u00a0 Now, the not-running as I heal is probably helping, and of course my PT exercises, but it wasn&#8217;t til I added in yoga that I really noticed an uptick.\u00a0 I might just be ready to try a 30-day yoga challenge.\u00a0 It&#8217;s on YouTube, so I can really do it anywhere.<\/p>\n<p>Also, my shoulders are perpetually tight.\u00a0 I try to stretch them out, but I don&#8217;t have anything structured that I do.\u00a0 You know what might help with that?\u00a0 Yoga.<\/p>\n<p>So I guess I&#8217;m going to be sticking with this yoga thing.\u00a0 You still aren&#8217;t going to find me in yoga class every week, but I can certainly do a 15-20 minute video after my workouts.\u00a0 Maybe someday I will be able to touch my toes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guys.\u00a0 I have never liked yoga.\u00a0 I just can&#8217;t get into the whole &#8220;center yourself and feel the strength of the earth move through your body&#8221;
