Well hello there. Long time no see. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stopped writing this blog after my last virtual race in 2020 because I stopped running. Why? I was pregnant and while some people can run while pregnant, I felt like my uterus was going to fall out of my belly button with every step. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then I had a baby. And lost all track of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also had a lot of work to do for my body to recover from pregnancy. With torn hip labrums, pregnancy was especially hard on all of those muscles needed for running, so it took a while to get back to it. I don’t know that I’ll get back to triathlon anytime soon (more on that later), but I decided to commit to running the Walt Disney World 10K on my birthday in 2025. And I’m running for charity, so if you would like to support my efforts, I appreciate every dollar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though I’ve not been completely sedentary – lots of walking and chasing after an almost-three-year-old, plus we have a Peloton, so I’ve been doing a lot of riding. But running is a whole different animal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m currently doing one of the many Couch to 5k plans to really make sure that I’m easing back in and not doing anything that will lead immediately to injury. I can tell that my body does remember how to run, but I still just don’t want to push it. Honestly, I’m probably taking things slower than I need to, but I have until January to be able to cover 10k, so there’s no harm in taking things slow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And since I’m back to running and training, I thought maybe I should revisit this blog and figure things out. Making some changes on the backend so things look nicer on mobile, so let me know if things look weird or if there’s something else you want to see.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
