First off, an apology to my male readers. \u00a0But today’s post is going to be about sports bras.<\/p>\n

Or maybe that just got your attention.<\/p>\n

While spectating for the Disney Half in January, my friends and I noticed a number of women wearing completely inappropriate bras for the race. \u00a0How did we know? \u00a0You couldn’t miss it. \u00a0Some of these women had breasts bouncing so much that it had to be painful!<\/p>\n

Did you know that breasts are held up by ligaments? \u00a0And if you stretch those ligaments too much, they won’t go back to where they were? \u00a0That’s right, if your bra isn’t supportive enough, you can end up with sagging. \u00a0And no one wants that!<\/p>\n

How do you know if your bra is supportive enough? \u00a0Put it on and jump up and down. \u00a0Jog in front of a mirror. \u00a0You should be able to tell. \u00a0You want as little bounce as possible. \u00a0Your bra should be tighter than your normal everyday bra, but you should still be able to breathe.<\/p>\n

And sadly, sports bras only last around a year. \u00a0So check out your sports bra collection and start weeding out!<\/p>\n

Where should you shop? \u00a0My go to stores are Title Nine and Bare Necessities. \u00a0T9 has a Bounce<\/a> store dedicated to bras. \u00a0Unfortunately, if you’re bigger than a DD cup, you will have a limited selection there. \u00a0As a hard to fit gal, Bare Necessities<\/a>\u00a0is actually my go-to bra shop due to a wide selection and a great return policy.<\/p>\n

I have bras by a couple different brands, including Moving Comfort and Anita, but for long distance running, my go-to bra is the Enell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"ENELL_sport\"<\/a>It’s not the prettiest (though they are now coming in cute colors!), but it’s pretty awesome. \u00a0Nothing moves. \u00a0Plus I’m not exactly concerned about how the bra looks – this white belly isn’t going to see the sun anytime soon.<\/p>\n

But sports bra preference is personal. \u00a0So do some shopping! \u00a0Find out what works for you. \u00a0But please, make sure that your bra fits! \u00a0You will be so glad you did.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
