{"id":2051,"date":"2013-07-03T08:00:29","date_gmt":"2013-07-03T12:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=2051"},"modified":"2013-06-29T15:27:45","modified_gmt":"2013-06-29T19:27:45","slug":"june-training-wrapup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2013\/07\/03\/june-training-wrapup\/","title":{"rendered":"June Training Wrapup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>June was a month of highs and lows when it comes to training. \u00a0 It was a pretty busy month too.<\/p>\n<p>I finished the month with 32.7 run miles, six swim workouts and five bike workouts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Good<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 15px;\">I am a triathlete! \u00a0I finished my first triathlon this month!<\/span><\/li>\n<li>I had a rough first open water swim, but I finished the month strong by attending an OWS Clinic and already feel better. \u00a0The work isn&#8217;t over yet though!<\/li>\n<li>I rode the bike course for Iron Girl Columbia and did not die.<\/li>\n<li>Did you see that triathlete thing up there?<\/li>\n<li>Didn&#8217;t gain weight this month.<\/li>\n<li>No, seriously. \u00a0TRIATHLETE.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Bad<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 15px;\">32.7 run miles sounds bad enough (my monthly goal is at least 50), and then you realize that 18 of them happened in the first two days of the month during the Run for the Dream Half Weekend.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Too many missed workouts post-race.<\/li>\n<li>Weather has been keeping me on my bike trainer.<\/li>\n<li>Didn&#8217;t lose weight this month.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Ugly<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 15px;\">Zero strength training workouts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Next Steps<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 15px;\">I have written up a workout plan. \u00a0Now I must stick to it. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>This plan includes THREE rides on the Iron Girl course.<\/li>\n<li>I have another OWS clinic (with a different instructor, just for variety) mid-month.<\/li>\n<li>I MUST get in my 8 mile runs on the weekends<\/li>\n<li>DietBet ends on July 26th. \u00a0I need to lose 4.5 more pounds to win.<\/li>\n<li>I will at least consider strength training<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>June was a month of highs and lows when it comes to training. \u00a0 It was a pretty busy month too.
