I’m trying to not think too much about my race this weekend.\u00a0 Most notably, I’m trying to not think about the weather.<\/p>\n

People, if it storms and the swim part gets cancelled, I will lose it.<\/p>\n

Okay, so that’s a far cry from possible, but…<\/p>\n

Wait, no.\u00a0 Obsessing again.<\/p>\n

Fall race schedule!\u00a0 That’s where we were.<\/p>\n

So after this weekend, first up on my schedule is the Diva’s Half Marathon<\/span> in “Wine Country, DC.”\u00a0 Which is really Virginia.\u00a0 But it’s a very beautiful part of VA, so I’m not complaining.\u00a0 I’ve never run a Diva’s race, but I have heard good things, so I’m looking forward to it.\u00a0 It will also be Betsy<\/a>‘s first half marathon, and I wish I were faster so I could guarantee that I would be at the finish line when she finishes.\u00a0 But that girl has been training like a MACHINE.<\/p>\n

I will have a lot of work to do to get my body into half marathon shape.\u00a0 I’m at a fitness level where I will be able to get my body across the finish line, but I’m not sure it will be pretty.\u00a0 That’s what triathlon training and summer heat have done to me.<\/p>\n

But things will be better for the next race in my fall series, the Baltimore Half Marathon<\/span>.\u00a0 People either love or hate this race. I love it.\u00a0 I like hilly races though, because what goes up must come down.\u00a0 And the scenery is awesome.\u00a0 As are the spectators.<\/p>\n

Following close on the heels of that race is one of my favorite DC races, the Army Ten Miler<\/span>.\u00a0 Think of it as a smaller version of the Marine Corps Marathon in terms of inspiring sights.\u00a0 So many amazing people out there.\u00a0 If they can do it, so can I.<\/p>\n

Next on my schedule is technically the Philadelphia Half Marathon<\/span>.\u00a0 Yet another repeat race.\u00a0 But one of my best friends in the whole wide world may be having her baby shower that weekend, and as much as I love running, I love her more, so this one is very much up in the air.\u00a0 No worries, because the race I’m most looking for is the following month.<\/p>\n

That’s right, I finally got sucked into the Space Coast Half Marathon<\/span>.\u00a0 Yes, it was probably the bling that sucked me in, but also the friends who will be there.\u00a0 And the bling.\u00a0 I’m hoping this race will be a PR race for me, but it’s going to be very weather dependent.\u00a0 Seeing as I’m running a marathon in January, I should be well trained for this half, but if it’s hot, my body just shuts down.\u00a0 And in Florida, you just never know.<\/p>\n

So that’s what’s on tap for me for the rest of the year.\u00a0 It’s actually a pretty light fall for me.\u00a0 I’m hoping to keep up some biking and swimming as cross training as well, which I hope helps keep me off of the injury list.<\/p>\n
