{"id":2233,"date":"2013-08-30T08:00:39","date_gmt":"2013-08-30T12:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=2233"},"modified":"2013-08-29T13:33:03","modified_gmt":"2013-08-29T17:33:03","slug":"ow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2013\/08\/30\/ow\/","title":{"rendered":"Ow."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In general, runners tend to be idiots.<\/p>\n<p>At least in my personal experience.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, my calf was a little sore, but nothing too bad.\u00a0 I figured it was just a knot that needed to loosen up, so I got on the treadmill for my five mile run.<\/p>\n<p>Those running intervals hurt!\u00a0 So after about ten minutes of nothing changing, I decided perhaps I could walk.\u00a0 Walking still hurt, but nothing too bad.\u00a0 I ended up doing about 2.5 miles, just to get some activity after a day of teleworking from the couch.<\/p>\n<p>By the time I went to bed Wednesday, my calf HURT.\u00a0 Well, more than it should have.\u00a0 But it wasn&#8217;t swollen or tender to the touch, so I figured it was just stupidity.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday it was better, but still sore when I walked, so I limped around a bit.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s still improving, and I&#8217;m getting a massage this morning (pre-scheduled), so that should help, but this weekend&#8217;s 8 mile run and 15+ mile bike ride are up in the air.\u00a0 Might move my 8 miler to Monday and see how I feel Sunday for the bike ride.<\/p>\n<p>But you know what would have been the better plan?\u00a0 STOPPING WHEN IT HURT!\u00a0 If I had just gotten off the treadmill on Wednesday when I realized my muscles weren&#8217;t loosening up, I would probably feel fine.<\/p>\n<p>But we runners can be idiots.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In general, runners tend to be idiots.
