Well, my week away from the internet kind of destroyed any chance I had at completing Holidailies.<\/p>\n
WORTH IT.<\/p>\n
So I thought I’d catch up on some prompts.<\/p>\n
How do you feel about outdoor holiday decorations? Are you a fan of the giant inflatables? Prefer a minimalist approach? Have firm preferences on the color of the lights?<\/strong><\/p>\n I think outdoor lights are awesome.\u00a0 There are two ways to do them:<\/p>\n There is no other option.<\/p>\n Of course, at my own house, there are no decorations save for a wreath on the door because I don’t trust myself to climb on a ladder.\u00a0 Maybe next year.\u00a0 I do own some of those fancy clips that go onto your gutters… but my gutters are 2 stories up.\u00a0 Kind of makes it tough.<\/p>\n But the “too much of everything” house is sort of my favorite.\u00a0 My high school driving instructor used to do his house up with insane amounts of decorations, including a rocket that “launched.”\u00a0 As someone with a January birthday, my driving lessons occasionally involved a trip to go buy more lights.\u00a0 (And we had a giant Wakko doll (Animaniacs, anyone?) buckled into the back seat of the car.\u00a0 The man was eccentric, but I have yet to wreck my car, so I guess it worked.)<\/p>\n What will you miss about 2013 (or alternatively, what will you *not* miss)?<\/strong><\/p>\n Well, I can’t say that 2013 had anything that 2014 won’t have, really.\u00a0 Job, house, bills…\u00a0 But I am hoping that 2014 is a better year.\u00a0 2013 was definitely a year of ups and downs, which I will likely write about in more detail later, but here are just a few things that happened this year.<\/p>\n So, you know.\u00a0 Major highs and lows.\u00a0 It was an excellent year for me personally, but a terrible year for my family.\u00a0 Here’s hoping 2014 is better.<\/p>\n What is your favorite way to celebrate New Year’s Eve?<\/strong><\/p>\n I am old and cranky, so staying up til midnight is no longer fun.\u00a0 I prefer to celebrate by curling up on the couch with a movie, having a drink at midnight in London, and going to bed by 10.\u00a0 Old and cranky.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Well, my week away from the internet kind of destroyed any chance I had at completing Holidailies.
