{"id":2881,"date":"2014-07-09T09:00:41","date_gmt":"2014-07-09T13:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=2881"},"modified":"2014-07-09T08:42:12","modified_gmt":"2014-07-09T12:42:12","slug":"weekly-workout-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2014\/07\/09\/weekly-workout-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Workout Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>That&#8217;s right!\u00a0 It&#8217;s Wednesday!\u00a0 Workout recap day!<\/p>\n<p>Last week was a good week.\u00a0 Stuck to the plan for every workout.<\/p>\n<p>Monday &#8211; Swim drills.\u00a0 <a title=\"Monday Morning Workout\" href=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2014\/06\/30\/monday-morning-workout\/\">As I discussed<\/a>, the worst part is beating other swimmers to the pool.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday &#8211; Treadmill run.\u00a0 5 miles of speedwork.\u00a0 I use the word &#8220;speed&#8221; loosely.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday &#8211; Bike drills.\u00a0 I really think this is where I&#8217;m going to make improvements to my triathlon time.\u00a0 Trainer drills are kicking my ass and I love it.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday &#8211; Made it to the Team Fight swim I was dreading and had an amazing time.\u00a0 So very glad I went.<\/p>\n<p>Friday &#8211; Rest day.\u00a0 I ROCK at rest days.\u00a0 Plus it was a holiday.\u00a0 A win all around.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday &#8211; Good lord.\u00a0 Went to the open water swim practice at Fort Ritchie.\u00a0 Swam 750m.\u00a0 Then biked the sprint tri bike course.\u00a0 That course is NO JOKE.\u00a0 I knew it included basically a 5 mile downhill followed by a 5 mile uphill, but I was ready for that.\u00a0 What I was not ready for was the steep hill, followed by a turn and another steep hill.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure I&#8217;m going to make it up those hills on race day.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll make the first one, but the second one might get walked.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not proud of that, but we&#8217;ll see what happens.\u00a0 After the bike, Kristin made us run a mile so we got in a triathlon.\u00a0 But she made us medals, which makes it all worth it.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, you know, good training.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/instagram.com\/p\/qFV1E7RwiX\/embed\/\" width=\"612\" height=\"710\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Sunday &#8211; 9 mile run.
