{"id":3687,"date":"2015-07-01T09:00:06","date_gmt":"2015-07-01T13:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=3687"},"modified":"2015-06-30T09:06:09","modified_gmt":"2015-06-30T13:06:09","slug":"wednesday-workout-recap-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2015\/07\/01\/wednesday-workout-recap-27\/","title":{"rendered":"Wednesday Workout Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_3688\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3688\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pixabay\/f\/canada_flag_1435669541.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3688\" src=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pixabay\/f\/canada_flag_1435669541-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"PublicDomainPictures \/ Pixabay\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pixabay\/f\/canada_flag_1435669541-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pixabay\/f\/canada_flag_1435669541.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3688\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/users\/PublicDomainPictures\/\">PublicDomainPictures<\/a> \/ Pixabay<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Happy birthday, Canada!<\/p>\n<p>Last week was a return to normal training.\u00a0 Except that the weather really thwarted that.<\/p>\n<p>Monday &#8211; Rest Day<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday &#8211; Treadmill speedwork.\u00a0 This would probably be more pleasant on a track, but getting to a track is annoying, plus my treadmill features a fan and air conditioning.\u00a0 That said, I really struggled to get any real speed tonight.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure why I find Tuesdays such a tough day for a workout.\u00a0 It&#8217;s possible I&#8217;m coming into the workout underfueled, or I&#8217;m just tired from the work day.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s be honest, I&#8217;m not going to get up early enough to run 8 miles and then get to work by 7:30, so I just have to tough it out.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday &#8211; Trainer power workout.\u00a0 While doing one legged drills, I&#8217;m really feeling the work in my hips, and I think this is where I&#8217;m running into trouble with tight hip flexors and a tight lower back.\u00a0 I need to be sure to stretch after these workouts.\u00a0 Which I love.\u00a0 I love the bike trainer more than I should.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday &#8211; Team Fight swim practice.\u00a0 Lots of kick drills.\u00a0 I&#8217;m really working on bilateral breathing right now because I&#8217;m absolutely terrible at it.\u00a0 Right now, I breathe on my right every 4 strokes.\u00a0 I&#8217;d like to be able to breathe every three and thus breathe on both sides. It&#8217;s not easy, but I&#8217;ll get there.\u00a0 Maybe by next season.<\/p>\n<p>Friday &#8211; Rest Day<\/p>\n<p>Saturday &#8211; 10 Mile Treadmill Run.\u00a0 This was the stormier of the two days for the weekend, and I was hopeful the group ride would happen Sunday, so I did this run indoors.\u00a0 It was way faster than it would have been outdoors, but I would have rather been outside.\u00a0 I need to start saving good tv for these sorts of workouts.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday &#8211; My plans were thwarted.\u00a0 I had a 100 minute bike ride on the schedule, but the group ride got cancelled and my normal route was filled with giant puddles.\u00a0 I considered going out and finding a new route, but given that I was going to end up riding alone, I just opted to hit the trainer, and did a full two hours instead of the 1:40 required.<\/p>\n<p>Next week, the weather had better be nicer.\u00a0 I do not want another full week of indoor workouts.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not winter after all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy birthday, Canada!
