{"id":3796,"date":"2015-08-12T09:00:31","date_gmt":"2015-08-12T13:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=3796"},"modified":"2015-08-12T08:53:58","modified_gmt":"2015-08-12T12:53:58","slug":"wednesday-workout-recap-32","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2015\/08\/12\/wednesday-workout-recap-32\/","title":{"rendered":"Wednesday Workout Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nothing better than a post-race week leading into a taper week.\u00a0 Nice and easy.\u00a0 Of course, this means that things are gonna hurt in a few weeks when I&#8217;m back to normal training.<\/p>\n<p>Monday was a designated rest day after my crazy race.\u00a0 I was supposed to sleep 8-9 hours Sunday night and Monday night.\u00a0 Succeeded on Sunday, not so much on Monday.\u00a0 Whoops.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, I went to see Book of Mormon and it was PHENOMENAL.\u00a0 I mean, if you like that sort of thing.\u00a0 I was not scandalized at all, but I was a little shocked by all the super old people in the audience.\u00a0 Way to be open minded, super old people!<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday I was supposed to train.\u00a0 I did not.\u00a0 Liz and I went to the baseball game instead.\u00a0 And it was awesome.\u00a0 Yay baseball!<\/p>\n<p>Thursday, I took the day off work because I wanted to sleep in and had to go to the dentist.\u00a0 No, seriously.\u00a0 And that&#8217;s what I told my boss.\u00a0 Conveniently, all the extra hours I&#8217;ve been putting in are working in my favor because her reaction was &#8220;Of course!&#8221;\u00a0 So today, I did yesterday&#8217;s easy bike workout (45 minutes on the trainer), then went to the dentist (no cavities!), then to the final Team Fight pool swim before Iron Girl.<\/p>\n<p>Friday was a rest day and I definitely rested.\u00a0 It was a long week.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, I went for an easy 8 mile run.\u00a0 I intentionally paid no attention to pace, and went out later than planned so it was a bit warm.\u00a0 The final pace was not pretty, but it was good to just go out and run.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday was the final group ride of the Iron Girl course.\u00a0 I was excited to get out there and do a final preview of the course, and since there were well over 100 riders, I was glad to be able to help out some of the newbies and teach people how to use their gears on the hills.\u00a0 I like this race because there are so many beginners.\u00a0 It does get frustrating when people aren&#8217;t aware of the rules, but I just have to let that go.\u00a0 (But seriously, people, learn the rules.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nothing better than a post-race week leading into a taper week.\u00a0 Nice and easy.\u00a0 Of course, this means that things are gonna hurt in a few weeks when I&#8217;m back to normal training.
