{"id":6060,"date":"2018-02-01T11:02:02","date_gmt":"2018-02-01T16:02:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/?p=6060"},"modified":"2018-02-01T11:02:02","modified_gmt":"2018-02-01T16:02:02","slug":"january-mileage-update-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/2018\/02\/01\/january-mileage-update-2\/","title":{"rendered":"January Mileage Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_6061\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6061\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/triathlon_1517496794.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6061\" src=\"http:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/triathlon_1517496794-300x181.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"181\" srcset=\"https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/triathlon_1517496794-300x181.png 300w, https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/triathlon_1517496794-768x463.png 768w, https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/triathlon_1517496794-1024x618.png 1024w, https:\/\/elbowglitter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/triathlon_1517496794.png 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6061\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/users\/depuys\/\">depuys<\/a> \/ Pixabay<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I really liked tracking my mileage last year, so this year, I set some concrete mileage goals and headed out to meet them.<\/p>\n<p>You know what they say about the best laid plans.<\/p>\n<p>But injuries happen, and goals are meant to be adjusted as circumstances change.\u00a0 So rather than being disappointed about my current mileage numbers, I find them pretty amusing.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not going to worry about changing the goals, I&#8217;ll just see where I end up.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">January Mileage:<\/span><br \/>\nSwim: 6.2 miles<br \/>\nBike: 170 miles<br \/>\nRun: 3 miles<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m ahead of the game on the swim for sure, thanks to the 100&#215;100 swim (of which I did 53) setup by one of my amazing Coeur teammates.\u00a0 My goal for this year&#8217;s swim was to swim smart and not aggravate my hip, but if possible, I wanted to beat last year&#8217;s swim.\u00a0 Last year, I did 5000y, so this year, I did 5300y.\u00a0 This year, I also didn&#8217;t touch any pool toys while swimming.\u00a0 No pull buoy, fins, or paddles.\u00a0 That was mainly out of concern for my hip, but it certainly made the swim more of a challenge.\u00a0 That said, it&#8217;s a huge confidence builder for the beginning of the season, whatever that season may look like.<\/p>\n<p>Bike numbers are a bit low, but it&#8217;s been a lot of indoor challenges.\u00a0 I&#8217;m using Zwift now, so it&#8217;s not really comparable to my indoor mileage from last year, but Zwift makes it way more fun, so I&#8217;ll take the slightly lower mileage.\u00a0 I&#8217;m definitely itching to get outside, but not when it&#8217;s this cold.\u00a0 There is no good way to bike while wearing a snowsuit, and I salute all you bike commuters.<\/p>\n<p>So on to the next month.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s hoping February has some goodness saved up for me!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I really liked tracking my mileage last year, so this year, I set some concrete mileage goals and headed out to meet them.
