So while I’m still coming off of my triathlon high, I decided to look towards my next goal – the Walt Disney World Marathon in January.

Don’t get me wrong, I have a couple of races between then and now that are important to me and where I would like to do well.  But ultimately, it’s time to start marathon training.

I am already dreading the marathon, to be honest.  I’m having that “What in the world was I thinking” feeling.  I know I can do it.  I know it will be good for me to train, and I know I will come out the other side proud and happy that I did it.

But I’m already a little scared.  Especially since this year, I don’t have my running partner training with me.  But I can’t be thinking about the 26.2 miles just yet.  I need to take it step by step and not worry about the endgame.  Not yet.

Step one is getting back into regular running.

Well, maybe step one is cleaning up the triathlon gear that’s still laying around the house.  Then back to running.

  1. You’ll do great. You have amazing focus and an incredible spirit. I’m laughing about your comment regarding cleaning the equipment from the IG Columbia race. I still have grass in my bike brakes. I put my bike shoes in a plastic bag to keep the dirt and grass out of my car. I just opened it last night and it smell like a combination of wet grass and Lake water. Eeewwwww LOL
