Last weekend, for the Rev 3 Half Full Tri, the weather was abnormally warm. Temps in the 90’s, bright and sunny. It was a gorgeous swim start, but a killer run, especially for the half distance athletes.
This weekend, the predicted temps are below 70 degrees and rain for the Baltimore Marathon and Half Marathon.
Admittedly, if I had to choose one or the other, I’d take the cool rain any day, though I may be in the minority on that one. But now I’m having the “I have no idea what to wear” issues. For a while I thought I would wear my water resistant jacket (as the water proof jacket would just make me hot). But I’m not sure that makes sense. I may just go old school and do the long sleeved tech over the short sleeved tech and wear a trash bag pre-race. It’s high fashion after all.
I will definitely be in a skirt – I hate wearing pants in the rain. Sure, my legs will get wet, but that’s better than cold pants sticking to me.
I also need to remember to toss some beach towels in the car in case we’re really wet by the time we get back. And maybe some dry clothes.
I hope the rain doesn’t keep the spectators away. That’s the best part about this race – the amazing neighborhood participation!
Definitely take some dry clothes, even if you have to change in a porta potty! If it’s cold and rainy, you will feel so much better in nice dry clothes for the ride home! Hope the rain stays away and the race is great!
