So now that it’s allegedly spring, it’s time for my triathlon training to kick into high gear.  That’s right, the trainer tire is off the bike and starting next weekend, I’m joining a local bike shop’s weekly rides.

So what does my summer schedule look like?

May 4 – The Frederick Half Marathon is my last half of the spring season. It’s a race I truly enjoy.

May 31 – Fort Ritchie Swimfest – Just signed up for this one.  I’m doing the 1500m swim.  It’s less of a race and more of an organized OWS practice in my mind.  But I do want to get out to a lake and try out my wetsuit before that day.

June 15 – Dragonfly Heart Sprint Triathlon – The official start to my triathlon season.

I apparently hate racing in July, but that’s good, because August is a bear.

August 3 – Fort Ritchie Sprint Triathlon

August 9 – E.T. Full Moon Half Marathon

August 17 – Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon – I’m excited to get back out on this course and chart my improvement.

August 23-24 – 24 Hours of Booty – Yes, that’s right.  A 24 hour bike ride.  Or however many hours I end up riding.

September 7 – Iron Girl Rocky Gap – Assuming this race still happens, with the death of TriColumbia.  I’m fairly confident IG Columbia will happen, but I personally think this one is at risk.

September 28 – Giant Acorn International Tri.  Yes, that’s right.  I’m stepping up distances for my last triathlon of the year.  Kind of scary, but I have a few months to make sure that I’m ready.

If August doesn’t kill me first.
