Yesterday was National Running Day. How did you celebrate?
I took a rest day.
Not planned.
Whoops.
But I think it was needed.
Yesterday, I was just dragging all day. I planned to do a quick run later in the evening, but by about 6pm, I was ready for bed. I did a pretty hard workout on Tuesday night, which may have been part of the problem. I also didn’t get a ton of sleep Monday night or Tuesday night. I think it all finally hit me yesterday.
So I decided that for my body, it was best that I skip the workout and go to bed early instead. Which is exactly what I did.
Part of the reason I chose that option was that I wanted to be fresh for tonight’s swim workout. I haven’t been able to get to Team Fight swim practice in a few weeks, so I want to be able to get there and swim my legs off.
So a rest day it was. I really think that taking all that time off due to work and personal commitments hurt my stamina, which is why I’m putting in extra rest days. I need to find a good balance here. I’ll get there.
