That’s right!  It’s Wednesday!  Workout recap day!

Last week was a good week.  Stuck to the plan for every workout.

Monday – Swim drills.  As I discussed, the worst part is beating other swimmers to the pool.

Tuesday – Treadmill run.  5 miles of speedwork.  I use the word “speed” loosely.

Wednesday – Bike drills.  I really think this is where I’m going to make improvements to my triathlon time.  Trainer drills are kicking my ass and I love it.

Thursday – Made it to the Team Fight swim I was dreading and had an amazing time.  So very glad I went.

Friday – Rest day.  I ROCK at rest days.  Plus it was a holiday.  A win all around.

Saturday – Good lord.  Went to the open water swim practice at Fort Ritchie.  Swam 750m.  Then biked the sprint tri bike course.  That course is NO JOKE.  I knew it included basically a 5 mile downhill followed by a 5 mile uphill, but I was ready for that.  What I was not ready for was the steep hill, followed by a turn and another steep hill.  I’m not sure I’m going to make it up those hills on race day.  I’ll make the first one, but the second one might get walked.  I’m not proud of that, but we’ll see what happens.  After the bike, Kristin made us run a mile so we got in a triathlon.  But she made us medals, which makes it all worth it.

Plus, you know, good training.

 

Sunday – 9 mile run. My legs were not happy after the previous day’s workouts, but I’m glad I got it in.

All in all, I give this week an A.  Good job, self!
