I have seen so many bloggers doing 30 before 30 lists.  Well.. I’m 32.  32.5, as of yesterday.  So I sort of missed that boat.  But as of this writing, I have 2.5 years til my 35th birthday.  So let’s see what I want to accomplish.

  1. Take a vacation that does not involve a race.
  2. Complete an Olympic Distance Triathlon
  3. Run a sub 2:45 half marathon
  4. Visit Erin in Toronto
  5. Beat OWS Panic
  6. Get my office into shape (2.5 years should be enough time to do this.)
  7. Visit Krissy in Florida (Krissy’s contribution to the list)
  8. Add at least 2 more states to my half marathon list
  9. Ride Expedition Everest during the Disney Marathon
  10. Volunteer at an Ironman or Half Ironman distance triathlon
  11. Volunteer at a kids triathlon
  12. Travel somewhere west of the Mississippi (St. Louis doesn’t count, since I go there yearly.)
  13. Visit all my Texans
  14. Get something edible to grow in my backyard
  15. Prevent the squirrels from eating said edible
  16. Run a sub-7:00 marathon (with or without rollercoasters)
  17. Spend a whole weekend doing nothing.  No training, no cleaning, nothing.
  18. Renew my Red Cross certification
  19. Buy a meal for a stranger
  20. Write a book.  Good or bad.  Just write.
  21. Blog every day for a month.
  22. Workout every day for a month.
  23. Go to Disneyland
  24. Raise a total of $3535 for the Ulman Cancer Fund
  25. Make pizza from scratch
  26. Make a pie from scratch
  27. Bake a cake from scratch
  28. Go dancing
  29. Double my blog readership
  30. Learn to play a song on my guitar
  31. Earn GIANT PENNY MEDAL (because Jen says so)
  32. Do the Go Ape obstacle course (thanks, Kristin!)
  33. See the Disney Christmas decorations
  34. Go on a cruise (since it’s paid for already, is this cheating?)
  35. Go on a second cruise.

Some big things, some little things.  Let’s see what happens.

  1. Mitch, I will never run a sub-2:45 in Disney heat 🙂 But it would mean holiday decorations…

  2. I have neither a bread machine nor a grill. I have a mixer with a dough hook though. I think that’s what it’s called.

  3. This list is fabulous! Love it!! I’ll have to extend my list to 35…there’s several I wasn’t able to accomplish prior to turning 30.

  4. Well, I don’t plan to grind the flour, but from scratch means basic ingredients. No pre made pie crusts or anything.

And why would I want to make my bed?

  5. Great list! I have mine on my iphone and as I go through them, I check them off. I just realized I checked 5 off and forgot to move them. It was a good feeling.
