I have seen so many bloggers doing 30 before 30 lists. Well.. I’m 32. 32.5, as of yesterday. So I sort of missed that boat. But as of this writing, I have 2.5 years til my 35th birthday. So let’s see what I want to accomplish.
- Take a vacation that does not involve a race.
- Complete an Olympic Distance Triathlon
- Run a sub 2:45 half marathon
- Visit Erin in Toronto
- Beat OWS Panic
- Get my office into shape (2.5 years should be enough time to do this.)
- Visit Krissy in Florida (Krissy’s contribution to the list)
- Add at least 2 more states to my half marathon list
- Ride Expedition Everest during the Disney Marathon
- Volunteer at an Ironman or Half Ironman distance triathlon
- Volunteer at a kids triathlon
- Travel somewhere west of the Mississippi (St. Louis doesn’t count, since I go there yearly.)
- Visit all my Texans
- Get something edible to grow in my backyard
- Prevent the squirrels from eating said edible
- Run a sub-7:00 marathon (with or without rollercoasters)
- Spend a whole weekend doing nothing. No training, no cleaning, nothing.
- Renew my Red Cross certification
- Buy a meal for a stranger
- Write a book. Good or bad. Just write.
- Blog every day for a month.
- Workout every day for a month.
- Go to Disneyland
- Raise a total of $3535 for the Ulman Cancer Fund
- Make pizza from scratch
- Make a pie from scratch
- Bake a cake from scratch
- Go dancing
- Double my blog readership
- Learn to play a song on my guitar
- Earn GIANT PENNY MEDAL (because Jen says so)
- Do the Go Ape obstacle course (thanks, Kristin!)
- See the Disney Christmas decorations
- Go on a cruise (since it’s paid for already, is this cheating?)
- Go on a second cruise.
Some big things, some little things. Let’s see what happens.
So 3 and 33 can be done when you sign up for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon!
Mitch, I will never run a sub-2:45 in Disney heat 🙂 But it would mean holiday decorations…
I absolutely love your list!! You’ve inspired me to make one 🙂 Ah and that giant penny medal is freaking amazing!! I want to race there too!!!

Thanks! It was a tough list to write because I wanted to be realistic.
Pizza from scratch is totally worth it. Do you have a bread machine to make the dough? Also, try grilling it. Grilled pizza has changed my life.

I have neither a bread machine nor a grill. I have a mixer with a dough hook though. I think that’s what it’s called.
Great list! I have some recipes for you 🙂
oohhhh what a fun idea! I am turning 32 this august so maybe I should put together a list for 35!! NO baking on my list, but definitely some important trips

This list is fabulous! Love it!! I’ll have to extend my list to 35…there’s several I wasn’t able to accomplish prior to turning 30.
how do you define “from scratch”? (25, 26, 27)
if you want to borrow Charlie for the squirrels, you may (15)
I’ll go dancing with you! (28)
you forgot “make the bed” and “shower”

Well, I don’t plan to grind the flour, but from scratch means basic ingredients. No pre made pie crusts or anything.
And why would I want to make my bed?
Great list! I have mine on my iphone and as I go through them, I check them off. I just realized I checked 5 off and forgot to move them. It was a good feeling.
