Good morning!  Did anyone else have teenagers banging on their door at 11:30 last night and incessantly ringing the doorbell?  (Well, anyone other than my neighbors?)  No?  Just me?  Awesome, then.

Anyway.

October flew by for me, and yet it was an incredibly busy month.  I can’t believe that just a month ago, I was getting home from my cruise on the Disney Fantasy.  (The photos of which are still on the camera…)  But at the same time, it’s clear that October was the start of marathon training for me.

I hit the pool once.  One time.  I was going to go last night, decided instead to deal with the kids and participate in Halloween, and from what I saw on Facebook, that was a terrible.  NO ONE showed up to swim, and the coach says we’re gonna pay next week.  Yikes.

Haven’t touched the bike.  Well, I think I used it to hold some of my hangers while I was hanging up my clean laundry, but no riding.

But in terms of running, I put in over 65 miles this month.  Now, for many of you, that’s not much, but for me, that’s my highest month since last December.  Of course, 23 of those miles were race miles, which does make it easier to get them in, but I really put in a good amount of time.  I need to keep it up and make sure to continue to get in my mid-week runs, especially the semi-long Wednesday run.

Looking forward, I’ve got some big running to do in November.  This month is really about building up to those final scary long runs and making sure that I have a solid foundation for my marathon in January.  I also need to make sure that I’m getting in cross training so I don’t risk injury.  And of course, plenty of time with the foam roller.

And of course, November means it’s time to start the Christmas decorating!  I really think I should count lugging the tree up the stairs and then putting it up as cross training.  I definitely work up a sweat that day!
