So… big storms here on Friday night. Lots of people still without power.
I do have power, as mine only went out for about 10 minutes. Very lucky. Given the big trees in my yard, I’m lucky nothing fell. Or snapped off.
(It’s hard to tell, but that is a tree with its top completely sheared off.)
The heat and the weather have kind of thwarted my running as of late. I’m also babying a knee twinge, for which I’m seeing a doctor on Friday. Rest has definitely helped a lot, so I’m thinking it’s probably nothing, and I’m hoping to get out for a quality run on Wednesday. Might just be a treadmill run though. 90 degree heat just isn’t working for me.
I feel like a bit of a slacker. Didn’t make my 50 mile goal for the month. Only ran about 35 miles. I’m still ahead of the game for my yearly goal, but I need to step up my game if I want to not only hit that goal, but be properly trained. I’m officially starting marathon training in October, but the first long run is 9 miles, so I have to be sure to get my body ready to go.
But first, storm cleanup. Everything else will come.
