All I want for Christmas is…

Now, do you follow that line with “you” or “my two front teeth?”  And what does that say about you?

So I’m playing fast and loose with the Holidailies prompts, and one from earlier this week was to write a letter to Santa.  So here goes.

Dear Santa,

Well, I’m sure you already got my list since Mom makes me put it together in October every year.  I do appreciate that you still bring gifts even though I’m in my 30’s.  But since you have the list of material things, let’s go with the immaterial, yet still totally selfish things that I want.  Because we all know that I want peace and an end to hunger, etc.

So I know you’re a runner, Santa.  I’ve seen you at races.  And you’re fast.  I guess all those cookies are good for carb loading.  And you must have strong bones from all that milk.  So I’m going to ask you about helping me towards my running goals.

First, Santa, if you could help propel me across the finish line of my marathon in January, that would be awesome.  And get my friends across the finish line too.  I’m not asking for a fast time, just a nice, healthy finish.

Also, if you could keep me from drowning or crashing on my bike during my triathlons, that would be great.  I can handle the run myself.  Maybe if you sent some elves to cheer me on, that would help.

Finally, if you could help keep me and my friends healthy for the upcoming running season, we would all appreciate it.  Being on the injured list is no fun.  It’s almost as bad as the naughty list – though what you have to do to get on the naughty list is way more fun.

Also, a contribution to my fundraising for Team Fight would be great!  Do you get a tax deduction, Santa? Because you could donate this year AND next year! (And then spend the tax refund on me!)

So that’s about it, Santa.  I know you can’t do it all, but I’d appreciate it if you could look at this list and see how you can help.
