One of the fun things about having a blog is seeing what search terms people use to find your blog.  A lot of people who find my blog find it searching for runDisney or various race reviews, but there are always random ones that make me laugh.

“Sparkly feeling in elbow” – I love that this brought someone to elbowglitter.com.  But I’m sorry, that’s probably not confetti in your elbow.  It’s probably from hitting your funny bone.  Which really isn’t all that funny at all.  I promise, elbowglitter is way more fun than hitting your funny bone.

“old ladies in the locker room” – I worry that this person was looking for something untoward.  Yikes.

“does epsom salt work for chafing” – Work to do what?  Have you ever heard the phrase “pouring salt in an open wound?”  Yeah, that’s what I think epsom salts would do to a chafed spot.  It would be painful and excruciating and please don’t do it.

“caterpillar crisis 2013” – Too many caterpillars?  Not enough?  I don’t know what this means.  But I’m pretty sure it looks like this.

Source.  Poor Heimlich.

“when is a person a real runner” – Well, my opinion is that the day you realize that you actually want to go out on a run, that’s when you’re a runner.  Or maybe it’s when you get your first runner’s high.  Or maybe it’s the day you finish a race with a smile.  I think you’re a real runner when you feel like a real runner.

I still don’t know what the person looking for the caterpillar crisis info found when they hit my blog.  But I hope they’re still reading.

  1. I actually think salt WOULD work for chafing. My evidence for this is that, growing up, my mom used to make me go into the ocean whenever I had a cut or scrape, or whenever my acne was particularly bad. I’m not sure if it was the salt water or fish poo that helped, but I like to think it was the salt.

  2. You know, when I got my navel pierced, I did do sea salt soaks, so I guess it does help with healing. Sounds painful though.

  3. That was my thought too, Karen! Maybe a day or two after the chafing it would be helpful. But it certainly sounds painful!
