I noticed yesterday that my upper body is very tense. I wondered if my asthma was acting up because my chest felt tight, but a bit of stretching revealed that it was actually my muscles and I had some soreness in my shoulders.
This happens to me every so often, usually when I’m under a lot of stress, and the current status of the government can’t be helping things since a good chunk of my work is getting delayed. But I’m wondering if my body positioning during Saturday’s half also has something to do with it.
I admit that my training wasn’t what it should have been, with a maximum long run of 9 miles, but that’s only a bit under what I often do for training. But I wasn’t properly hill trained, so I might have been hunching my shoulders a bit by the end.
I’m still working on getting strength training incorporated as a regular part of my workout, and it’s going… okay. I’m thinking getting back to regular swimming will likely help as well. Fatiguing those muscles will make them unclench, right?
Or maybe it’s just because I’m past due for a massage. Counting the days.
