With the holiday, I’m only in the office two days before I head to Florida for the Princess Glass Slipper Challenge.
It’s a little bit busy here, to say the least. But a lunch break is as good of a time as any to blog, right?
I have to admit, I’m still pretty burnt out on running. I just can’t get my groove back. So I’m very much not looking forward to the races. The trip, seeing friends, sure. The actual running of 19.3 miles… not so much.
I do think part of the issue is my shoes. Though I have less than 70 miles on them, my Brooks Adrenalines just aren’t lasting me the way they used to. The soles are already very visibly worn, and I can feel the difference in my joints. It’s frustrating – I’ve worn Brooks shoes for years, but I don’t feel like the quality is what it used to be. And I’m not the first person to think this. So I’m going to do some research and see what’s out there. I think I’m going to try Hokas for distance running, but will likely consider something else for shorter distances.
Biking and swimming is going much better. Well, save for today. Tuesday morning is swim morning. I set the alarm for 5:15. I hit the snooze once, then after a minute or so, rolled over and turned off the alarm. And it was after 6:20. Apparently that wasn’t just one snooze. Guess I didn’t sleep well after all. So I’ll flip flop Tuesday and Wednesday’s workouts. Probably for the best. I leave early Thursday, so if I get my Wednesday workout done in the morning, I still have the evening for all that last minute packing, etc.
As for work… I don’t even want to think about my task list. But it will all get done. It always does.
Wow, girl it sounds like you need to give yourself a break! What amazing motivational skills you must have!
