Another week, another workout recap.
Monday – Rest Day. A gift after riding 100 miles over the weekend.
Tuesday – 7 mile run, with 4 miles of speedwork. This workout felt incredible. Much faster than normal and my legs weren’t sluggish. I don’t want to think that the key to good running is killing myself on my bike though. That seems like a tough training plan.
Wednesday – Trainer workout. My quads were tired today, but I really love trainer drills.
Thursday – Team swim. Lots of 100 drills, which I enjoy. I need to keep working on my form. I have great form in the pool when I’m thinking about it, but when I get into open water, all bets are off.
Friday – Rest Day
Saturday – 10 Mile Run. This was… not pretty. It could have been much worse. I prepared for this run by drinking half a bottle of wine on Friday night, then oversleeping and running in the thick, muggy heat. Eh. But I got a new Nathan backpack hydration dealio, and it worked splendiferously. That’s good news for when the water fountains in the parks get turned off for the winter.
Sunday – 10 miles on the bike trainer. I could have gone outside, but it was hot and threatening storms. So I did a ten mile ride inside. I feel like trainer workouts are a good workout. I can’t just coast. I have to keep pedaling. That bodes well for the winter.
It was so glorious to not have to race this weekend. I cannot express that enough.
